Scientific Objectives:
Under major support from NASA/TRMM, this comprehensive ground
validation program will focus on studying the dynamical,
microphysical, electrical and diabatic heating characteristics of
tropical convection in Amazonia. Data colected in the program will be
used in part to valiate products from the TRMM satellite as it
repeatedly overflies this region.
