CuPIDO ISFF Netcdf Files
The CuPIDO 5-minute Netcdf files contain means and higher moments from
all sensors acquired by NCAR during CuPIDO.
Each file contains one day's data from 00:00 to 23:59 GMT.
The file names are of the form "isff_YYYYMMDD.nc", where YYYYMMDD
are the year, month and day.
We recommend combining these to obtain more statistically-significant
averages over longer time periods.
Status of Dataset
Unedited Field Data, August, 2006
ABSOLUTELY RAW, UNEDITED FIELD DATA. DO NOT USE QUANTITATIVELY!
- Status, Aug 14, 2006
- This are the 5 minute statistics
received in real-time during the project via the GOES satellite.
They have not been quality checked or edited.
Edited, Partially Quality-controlled Field Data, 13 December, 2006
- Status, Dec 14, 2006
- This dataset contains 5 minute statistics. Please also consult the notes on the main CuPIDO page for a particular sensor you are utilizing for additional information.
Please note the following information as relates to certain variables that should be used with caution for the reasons stated:
- Qsoil - soil moisture calibrations have not been completed (Sites 2, 3, 5, 10)
- Gsoil - The soil heat flux at Site 3 contains spikes between June 26 and July 16, 2006.
- Gsoil - The soil heat flux at Site 10 contains spikes between June 29 and July 13, 2006.
- Rnet - The windspeed correction to net radiation has not been completed for all sites.
- Fluxes - The Webb et al. (1980) correction for fluxes using density has not been implemented.
More information on the Netcdf file format is available from
Unidata.
ISFF CuPIDO 5min Dataset Access
The CuPIDO ISFF dataset is publically available.
However, we ask users to provide their name and email address
when they first download data, so that they may be notified of
discovered errors or new releases of the dataset.
