NIWOT02 ISFF Netcdf Files
The NIWOT02 5-minute Netcdf files contain means and higher moments from
all sensors acquired by NCAR during NIWOT02.
Each file contains one day's data from 00:00 to 23:59 GMT.
The file names are of the form "niwot.YYMMDD.nc", where YYMMDD
are the 2 digit year, month and day.
We recommend combining these to obtain more statistically-significant
averages over longer time periods.
More information on the Netcdf file format is available from
Unidata.
Status of Dataset
- Aug 27, 2002
-
- All data are as-sampled, no checking or editing have been done.
- Sonic winds in sensor coordinates.
- No CO2 sensors are operational.
- 3 meter and 6 meter sonics at station 1 were connected wrong.
Sonic variables (u,v,w,tc).3m were actually from 6 meter sonic
and vice versa. Fast water vapor (h2o.3m, h2o.6m) are correct.
This applies to all moments.
- Sep 3, 2002
-
- CO2 Hydra system operational. 1 second data must be used to resolve separate hydra inputs.
- Oct 1, 2002 (approximately)
-
- Sonic winds rotated from sensor to geographic coordinates, using
Vazimuths of (stn1=50 deg, stn2=75 deg and stn3=75 deg).
- Oct 1, 2003
-
- 5 minute netcdf files recreated.
- Switch of 3 meter and 6 meter at station 1 has been corrected: u.3m is
actually from the 3 meter sonic.
- Sonic winds rotated from sensor to geographic coordinates, using
Vazimuths of (stn1=50 deg, stn2=75 deg and stn3=75 deg).
